iCamp Thailand Summer Camp Behaviour Management and Code of Conduct
Purpose
At iCamp Thailand, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, respectful, and enjoyable environment for every camper. This Behaviour Management and Code of Conduct Policy sets out the standards of behaviour expected from all campers and explains how behavioural concerns will be managed.
Our aim is to educate, guide and support young people in making positive choices. Whilst most behavioural issues can be resolved through guidance and encouragement, the safety and wellbeing of all campers will always take priority. Where behaviour places others at risk or seriously breaches this policy, immediate action will be taken.
Expected Behaviour
All campers are expected to:
- Treat fellow campers, staff, visitors and members of the public with courtesy, kindness and respect.
- Follow all instructions given by iCamp staff promptly and without argument.
- Behave safely during all activities.
- Respect camp rules, accommodation, facilities, equipment and the natural environment.
- Respect the privacy, dignity and personal property of others.
- Participate positively in activities.
- Accept responsibility for their own behaviour.
- Help create an environment where everyone feels safe, welcome and included.
Behaviour Management Procedure
Where appropriate, behavioural concerns will normally be managed using the following four stage process.
Stage 1 – Informal Warning
A member of staff will speak privately with the camper, explain why the behaviour is unacceptable, remind them of the expected standard of behaviour, and provide guidance on how to make better choices.
This stage is intended to educate and support the camper before behaviour escalates.
Stage 2 – Formal Verbal Warning
If the behaviour continues, or if the incident is more serious, the camper will receive a formal verbal warning from a senior member of staff.
The incident will be recorded internally and the camper will be informed that any further behavioural concerns may result in their parent or guardian being contacted.
Stage 3 – Parent or Guardian Notification
If the behaviour continues after a formal verbal warning, or staff believe parental involvement is necessary, the parent or guardian will be contacted.
The behaviour will be discussed, expectations will be reinforced, and the parent or guardian will be advised that any further misconduct may result in expulsion from camp.
Stage 4 – Expulsion
Where behaviour continues despite previous interventions, or where camp management believes the behaviour has become unacceptable, the camper may be expelled from camp.
Where a camper is expelled:
- No refund or partial refund of camp fees will be provided.
- Parents or guardians must arrange collection of the camper, or suitable onward travel, as soon as reasonably possible.
- Any transport, accommodation, escort or other costs associated with the camper leaving camp are the sole responsibility of the parent or guardian.
Not every incident will follow this staged process.
Some behaviours are considered so serious that they will normally result in immediate expulsion without any prior warning.
